THE BUSINESS
Our fantastic manufacturing client is experiencing tremendous growth at present. With recently announced investment, the business continues to go strength to strength. They seek to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their excellent finance team in Durham. This role has a strong focus on the data processing side of finance crossed with credit control.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
14. Post day-to day transactions through the ERP system
15. Update daily headroom sheet and monitor cash balances daily
16. Timely processing of payments/cheques in from debtors
17. Completing bank reconciliations including petty cash
18. Verifying balances in account books and rectifying discrepancies
19. Accurate processing and display of data, to compile the weekly reports, whilst sense-checking against budgets and averages
20. Entering financial information into appropriate software programs
21. Support in the completion of monthly reporting documents
22. Support during external audits
23. Updating monthly accounts support files and support with month end reconciliations
24. Raise and send sales credit notes, additional Sales Invoice
25. Assisting the finance department and senior accounting staff members with various tasks, including cost analysis and records
26. Import documentation – accurate reporting and collection of documentation for international purchases
27. Debtor chasing
28. Credit limit reviews and management
29. Support with the year-end analysis, including midyear reviews
30. Cross training within the department on Purchases, log intake and other areas
31. Sending customer statements
THE PERSON
32. Work in small accounts team, where jobs may be shared depending on workloads, to ensure timely reporting and support to Managers where requested.
33. Previous financial experience, particularly within data processing and credit control.
34. Strong communication and relationship skills
35. Motivated and enthusiastic
36. Advanced computer use especially in Excel and Outlook
37. Outstanding attention to detail
38. Ability to prioritise tasks with effectiveness and efficiency
