We are looking to appoint one full-time Consultant Gastrointestinal (GI) Radiologist post based at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The post includes programmed activities in GI and general radiology. We can also support another subspecialty interest. We need to fill posts in paediatrics, neurology and cardiothoracic radiology.
The post has arisen because of sabbatical leave. The successful candidate will join a team of 30 consultantradiologists to help deliver Diagnostic Imaging Services to the Trust and local commissioners. Candidatesare required to have a subspecialty interest in GI imaging and associated intervention.
The department can be flexible in its approach and support a candidate who wishes to maintain experience in general radiology or another subspecialty interest whilst fulfilling the GI sessional commitments of the post. The Lister Hospital site is fully accredited for training with 12 ST Trainee.
Main duties of the job
The workload of the successful candidate would be approximatelythat recommended by the Royal College of Radiologists. Thesuccessful candidate would also play a role in teaching anddeveloping skill mix within the Unit and participate in the MDTmeetings.

* Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register
* College Membership (FRCR) or qualification of an equivalent level

Previous Experience
Essential
* Broad range of experience in General Radiology in particular: o Experience of GI Ultrasound, Plain film reporting, CT colonography, cross-sectional GI MRI and CT. o Fully competent in General and GI Radiology
* Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
* Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
* Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice
Desirable
* Demonstrable experience in a Locum Consultant role
