Student and Academic Services Student Journey and Support Services Senior Wellbeing Adviser (Mental Health) Ref: ALC1624 ​ Starting salary from £38,784 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum (pro rata) ​ ​ The UEA Wellbeing Advisory team offer specialist student-centred advice and guidance and deliver therapeutic support to students with a wide variety of mental health difficulties. The Senior Wellbeing Advisers have specific responsibility for the assessment and management of students with complex needs and who are presenting as ‘at risk’ of harm to self or others. Risk assessment, management and review are key skills for this post holder. ​ ​ You will meet with students on a one to one basis agreeing a management plan with them and other relevant departments and agencies to manage presenting concerns. You will also liaise with other wellbeing staff and other University departments giving advice and guidance on risk management and complex cases. ​ Other duties will also include identifying the support needs and reasonable adjustments required by students to enable students to access their courses and the wider opportunities offered by University life. You will play an active role in the promotion of mental wellbeing within the student and wider University community. ​ Applicants for this post must have a recognised and accredited mental health and/or psychological therapy qualification together with relevant recent experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties and clear risk assessment and management skills, as well as meeting all essential criteria of the person specification. ​ You will work some unsocial hours at particularly busy periods in the academic calendar and will need to be able to prioritise and work flexibly and be committed to collaborative working. ​ This part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available on an indefinite basis. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child and Adult Barred Lists.
