What the Director, Patient and Site Engagement does
The Patient and Site Engagement Director applies their therapeutic expertise and experience in Patient support solutions and is tasked with defining, embedding, and scaling patient-focused planning into Worldwide’s strategic approach to study planning and successful delivery. This role will oversee the implementation of best practice approaches for the Patient engagement team and be responsible for innovation in patient and site engagement and support settings. The Director will embed optimized processes into Worldwide’s capabilities to support new business pursuits and ensure studies are set up for successful delivery. The role enables and manages collaborative interactions both internally and externally to generate indication-level and clinical trial-specific insights, assessing potential barriers to study participation, and recommending tailored patient and site support strategies. This role requires experience in establishing new processes and acting as a thought leader, establishing partnerships across stakeholders to incorporate detailed understanding of the patient journey into new business pursuits, and effectively communicating site-specific needs related to patient engagement, recruitment, and retention, reducing risks with support or mitigation strategies.
What you will do
* Define and report key performance indicators to Patient and Site Solutions leadership and SLT for engagement activities.
* Establish infrastructure to track KPIs and measure the impact of support strategies on clinical trial performance.
* Manage team members, act as coach and mentor, and support career development.
* Oversee implementation of best practices within the team.
* Assess gaps and recommend innovations in the space.
* Support the Strategic Feasibility assessment during proposals, including providing Study Burden Analysis and insights to incorporate patient and site engagement considerations.
What you will bring to the role
* Passion for representing patient viewpoints and optimizing patient experiences.
* Understanding of patient and site burden risks in trials.
* Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
* Basic understanding of clinical drug development across therapeutic areas.
Your experience
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent minimum.
* 10+ years of experience in medical, healthcare, scientific, or related fields, preferably in Patient engagement, recruitment & retention, feasibility, or site-study coordination roles.
* Experience in line management within an expert function.
* Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice principles.
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
