Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our team at Nashley House. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering a varied and stimulating program of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver a wide range of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs.
* Encourage participation from all residents, including those with dementia or limited mobility.
* Organize events such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise classes, outings, and themed celebrations.
* Work collaboratively with care staff, families, and external entertainers or volunteers.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and preferences.
* Regularly evaluate the success of activities and adapt the program based on feedback.
* Support residents' personal goals and promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
* Promote a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment in line with the care home's values.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar role, ideally within a care home or health and social care setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Creative, energetic, and empathetic approach to engaging with elderly individuals.
* Understanding of the needs of older people, including those living with dementia.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Basic IT skills for record-keeping and activity planning.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, Activity Provision) is desirable but not essential.
