Financial Controller £70-£80,000 + Benefits - Technology Sector -South Manchester/Cheshire
Sellick Partnership is pleased to be working exclusively with a well-established, growing and profitable technology business looking to recruit a Financial Controller.
This is a senior role in the business offering ownership of financial control, reporting and business partnering. You will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management and performance of the business. The role requires hands-on technical delivery with strong stakeholder management, people leadership and continuous improvement. You will lead a small finance team and act as the primary finance contact for operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
* Ownership of month-end close and production of accurate, timely management accounts
* Full responsibility for P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
* Delivering variance analysis, commentary and insight to senior finance and non-finance stakeholders
Budgeting, Forecasting & Commercial Analysis
* Leading the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting cycles
* Producing financial modelling, trend and profitability analysis to support strategic decisions
Business Partnering
* Acting as a finance business partner to operational teams
* Translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insight for non-finance stakeholders
* Supporting cost control and margin improvement initiatives
Cash Flow, Controls & Governance
* Overseeing credit control, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
* Identifying opportunities to improve cash flow and working capital
* Supporting year-end accounts, audit processes and liaison with external advisors
Systems & Continuous Improvement
* Driving improvements in finance processes, systems and reporting
* Supporting system implementations and finance transformation initiatives
* Contributing to M&A activity, including post-acquisition integration as required
Experience Required
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Experience in a technology business
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
* Strong technical accounting and financial control background
* Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders
Desirable
* Exposure to M&A, integration or finance transformation projects
* Experience of system implementations or process improvement
