We are recruiting for a Financial Assessment Assessor, who will join our Financial Assessment Team working in Adult Social Care Financial Services. We are a changing and evolving service and, as part of the team, you will be central to this, often acting as the first point of contact for the Department.
As well as dealing with calls from clients and both internal and external stakeholders, you will be completing financial assessments and corresponding and providing written outcomes to clients and their representatives.
You will maintain client records, needing to be proactive and take responsibility for your own work. You will be a key part of the service delivery and work towards the achievement of the best outcomes for our clients.
Ideally you will:
1. Have good listening skills with a friendly and helpful telephone manner, you will have the ability to address people’s concerns with empathy and compassion
2. Have ability to multi-task and deal with conflicting priorities to meet deadlines
3. Be confident assessing and processing financial data and information accurately
4. Have the ability to resolve noncomplex and complex decisions, with line manager support, and signpost
5. Be a team player
6. Be able to use a wide range of IT systems such a Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
7. Be a positive, proactive person who possesses a “can do” attitude and be willing to provide a wide range of support that supports the best outcomes for our clients and their representatives and carers
8. Have a desire to be part of a supportive and collaborative team

The role offers flexible working, with the requirement to work from St Mary’s House for one day per week (minimum), and the remainder from home or another location if you wish.
You will be entitled to 23 days annual leave which rises to 26 days after 5 years’ service. In addition, you are also entitled to 2 statutory days at Christmas
