About the role
As a Sales Assistant within the Port Shop, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service to passengers and visitors while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the retail environment. Working in a fast-paced setting, you will assist customers with purchases, maintain attractive product displays, manage stock levels, and ensure all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
You will be responsible for
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with enquiries, product recommendations, and purchases.
• Operate tills accurately, processing cash and card transactions while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Replenish stock, monitor inventory levels, and assist with stock control activities to ensure products are readily available.
• Maintain high merchandising standards by creating attractive product displays and ensuring the shop remains clean, organised, and well-presented.
• Support daily store operations, including receiving deliveries, checking stock, and assisting with promotional activities to drive sales.
About you
We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual with previous retail experience and a passion for delivering exceptional service. You will have a good knowledge of wine and alcoholic products, enabling you to confidently assist customers and make recommendations where required.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can work independently using your own initiative, and have excellent attention to detail. A positive attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential. You'll take pride in maintaining high standards across the store while contributing to a welcoming and professional shopping experience for all customers.
