Are you looking to specialise in Cardiac Catheter Lab? We have a vacancy for Band 5. The department has a development pathway in place for progression from Band 5 to Band 6. Are you enthusiastic and ambitious Radiographer, do you want an opportunity to develop your skills? If this is you we would welcome your application to become part of the team at Dorset County Hospital. We encourage our Cardiac Radiographers to develop their expertise and knowledge within the Cath Lab to take an active role in the patient care pathway.
Responsibilities and opportunities
* In-house and Manufacturer training is provided for all specialist equipment used within the Cath Lab such as IVUS, OCT imaging and SynVision, pressure wire and microvascular studies in order to develop skills and confidence.
* Complex procedures also incorporate the use of Rotablation and Shockwave IVL for treatment.
* Stock control is important for effective use of resources and the department uses an IMS for this.
* We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for our Cath Lab team. There is in house provision of education and training across the broad spectrum of equipment and procedures and undertaken within the department.
* We are constantly striving to improve the service we offer our patients and welcome ideas and development in practice.
Qualifications and requirements
* Must have recent post-graduate work experience and have worked in the NHS as a diagnostic radiographer.
About Dorset County Hospital and location
Dorset County Hospital is in the county town of Dorchester which has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol and London and boasts highly rated schools. Dorset is a delightful place to live and work with the choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Dorchester has undergone a major refurbishment with lots of bars and restaurants providing evening entertainment. The seaside town of Weymouth is nearby with lots of water sports opportunities.
