About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with families to offer practical and emotional support, promoting positive parenting and children’s welfare.
- Act as a point of contact for parents/carers, helping them navigate school systems and access relevant services.
- Support children experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties that may impact their education.
- Work closely with school staff, external agencies, and safeguarding leads to coordinate effective early help and intervention plans.
- Contribute to multi-agency meetings (e.g. Early Help Assessments, Child Protection conferences) where appropriate.
- Promote regular school attendance by working with families to identify and overcome challenges.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children and families in an educational, social care, or community setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and current issues affecting families and children.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A relevant qualification (e.g. in Social Work, Youth Work, Education, or Family Support) is desirable but not essential.
