Job Description Pushforward Primary School Address: Stable Barn, Blackthorpe, Rougham IP30 9HZ Salary: £14 per hour Hours: Part time, 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, term time only Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible Reference: 8919 Pushforward Primary School are seeking a passionate and committed Youth Support Assistant to join our highly supportive team. What we offer A workplace that prioritises emotional health and wellbeing, for staff as well as pupils Ongoing professional development and opportunities to build new skills The chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children A friendly, inclusive, and supportive team environment focused on improving outcomes Key Responsibilities Provide one to one mentoring and support for a pupil Assist the classroom teacher during lessons Support the School Delivery Practitioner with targeted interventions Monitor and report on pupil progress, raising concerns where appropriate Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including trips and extracurriculars Assist with classroom setup and preparation Support food preparation for meals and snacks Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and learning Requirements Strong basic education, including GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and mathematics Good IT skills Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. Teaching Assistant) Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs in an educational setting Confidence to take on additional responsibilities (e.g. Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtime support, school yoga, etc.) Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques Commitment to ongoing professional development Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment Join us If you are resilient, and passionate about supporting young people to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
