Hays Education is currently working alongside Secondary SEN School based in Croydon, South London, who are seeking amitted and experienced SEN LSA with a desire to work 1:1 with students or in small groups, different age groups (KS3 or KS4). This role will start ASAP on a full-time basis and will continue for the rest of the academic year with the possibility to be extended to next academic year or a permanent contract for the right candidate. They are seeking someone who is currently holding DBS on updated service as the role is to start immediately.
Your new role
The successful applicant will work with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups across KS3/KS4 - however, in addition to this, you might be asked to support a child who has an EHCP, dyslexia or ADHD. Experience of working from a tailored learning plan is preferred but not essential. You might be asked to support children with various subjects such as Maths, Science, English etc. The successful candidate must have experience in building strong working relationships with children, as this is a school-based role.
What you'll need to succeed
A prior knowledge of the national curriculum would be extremely beneficial. However, experience working in various educational backgrounds would be considered. School would consider strong graduate TA. Experience working or volunteering in children friendly environment is essential. You must have a proactive approach and be ready to help and share your knowledge with students. The successful LSA will have the opportunity to work within a supportive and friendly secondary school team in Croydon, South London.
