As Property Management Surveyor, you will:
Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day delivery of the Corporate Landlord function, centralising property management and budgets
* Manage service charges, rents and property costs, ensuring transparency and compliance with RICS standards
* Oversee third‑party lease arrangements, ensuring obligations are met and effectively monitored
* Take responsibility for easements, wayleaves and property rights, including negotiations and dispute resolution
* Drive income collection and debt management for rent and service charges
* Provide expert property management advice to senior officers and service leads
* Collaborate with finance, legal and operational teams to ensure effective estate management
* Contribute to strategic asset management planning and property reviews
* Line‑manage a Property Management Assistant and support wider team development
* Deputise for the Estates Team Leader when required
You will also play a key role in embedding and improving the Council’s Corporate Landlord approach, ensuring consistency, accountability and strong financial control across the estate. Qualifications
* A professional qualification in property/surveying (MRICS or working towards)
* Strong experience managing a diverse property portfolio
* In‑depth knowledge of landlord & tenant law and lease management
* Experience in service charge management and budget control
* Ability to manage stakeholder relationships across multiple services
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* A collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge and influence
* Experience using property systems (e.g. CAFM/Concerto desired)
* In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
