Job Description Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Software Developer for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £238.06/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote working with the odd visit to Cardiff throughout the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities:
- Work in structured Scrum teams under experienced leads.
- Be responsible for delivering individual software components.
- Be involved in MS SQL Server development, including design, implementation, and performance optimisation.
- Broaden your skills through collaboration and mentorship.
Essential Skills:
- Degree in relevant technical subject or equivalent experience
- Strong T-SQL skills: Writing complex stored procedures and functions.
- Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (2008 – 2019).
- Experience creating and using SSIS packages (2008+).
- Database design using normalization and ER-diagramming techniques.
Desirable Skills:
- XML Web Services or Web APIs.
- API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SOAP UI).
- Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
- Version control with Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps.
