Job Description Summary

In the current process of business growth, facing projects with edge technology Offshore Wind Platform (Haliade X), the Drive Train Commissioning Technical Support Engineer will play an important role in the successful execution of projects. He/she will act as a key person for the technical aspects of the commissioning project for the complete electrical drive train (HV/MV cables, GIS, transformer, converters, and generator), with an overall view from the supplier manufacturing until offshore operations. Main activities include validation of assets reception from the supply chain, de-risking issues, technical preparation for onshore and offshore commissioning, aligning with design and project operations teams to release a fully validated commissioning test plan, and achieving technical and EHS excellence through site/remote support until project closure. The main goals are Quality & Customer Satisfaction.


Job Description

* Lead technical and operational improvements with Design teams.
* Support in creating documentation for Haliade commissioning procedures, considering the latest Engineering test Plan, Electrical Machinery Standards, and project-specific customizations, with a focus on EHS compliance.
* Assist Package managers and follow up on project execution for all technical topics to prepare and execute commissioning strategies timely.
* Support the purchasing team by defining tooling and spares lists needed for ongoing projects.
* Participate in the development and improvement of tooling in coordination with Engineering.
* Build relationships with customers to clarify interfaces and develop partnerships on technical aspects of commissioning.
* Provide onsite and remote technical support to onshore and offshore teams, manage investigations with Design Engineering teams, handle defects and PACs, and plan support accordingly. Be accountable for technical topics during work execution.
* Implement continuous process improvements focusing on safety, cost reduction, digitalization, and data analytics, with attention to EHS compliance.
* Support engineering during the NPI process for commissioning.
* Follow up on tests from previous manufacturing stages, prepare commissioning protocols for onshore and offshore, and ensure technical de-risking for smooth offshore commissioning.
* Focus particularly on power converter and HV power drive train commissioning and support.


Qualifications/Requirements

* Technical diploma in electro-mechanics, industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
* At least 5 years of experience with electrical drive trains in various industries.
* Proficiency in English; Spanish, French, and Portuguese are a plus.
* Experience in wind turbine commissioning and project preparation, including supplier management and manufacturing processes.
* Experience supporting wind turbines and leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience with design or commissioning of power converters, PM generators, HV transformers, and MV switchgear.
* Experience with tools management and quality tools (8D, SIPOC, FMEA).
* Strategic thinking and leadership skills to guide teams to successful outcomes.
* Strong system thinking, risk assessment, and decision-making capabilities.
