Commercial Finance Manager | Technology and Research Organisation
Richmond upon Thames - Hybrid
£65,000 - £75,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity
As Commercial Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the Finance team in a high-visibility role, partnering closely with senior leadership to shape strategy and drive performance. Finance sits at the heart of the organisation - providing insight, challenge and direction to enable informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
What you will be doing
Strategic Leadership
• Act as the lead finance partner for key departments and programmes
• Partner with senior leadership to shape strategy and commercial decisions
• Provide clear insight, analysis and constructive challenge
• Align planning, management accounting and capital teams
• Champion strategic priorities across finance, driving engagement and delivery
Governance & Performance
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles
• Ensure compliance with government finance standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain strong financial governance, controls and risk management
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting, analysis and insight
• Build robust systems and data to support future decision-making
Stakeholder & External Engagement
• Act as a trusted Finance partner to senior leadership
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders and partners
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and performance insight
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support a unified, organisation-wide approach
About You
• Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in commercial finance / business partnering roles
• Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders
• Experience delivering budgets, forecasts and long-range plans
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
• Commercially minded with the ability to turn insight into action
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex environment
