Job Summary
Lead the development and delivery of major strategic bids across the full lifecycle, from early positioning through submission, interview preparation and post‑bid review. Work collaboratively with capture managers, technical leads, writers, graphics teams and stakeholders to ensure high‑quality outputs and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end‑to‑end bid process, from capture and win‑strategy development through final submission and debrief, following AECOM best‑practice.
* Develop and implement pursuit plans aligned with sector strategy and client needs.
* Facilitate workshops, planning sessions and market analysis to define win themes and value propositions.
* Create and manage bid programmes, ensuring timely delivery of compliant, high‑quality submissions.
* Coordinate and motivate bid teams, briefing contributors and overseeing content development, formatting and graphics.
* Engage with internal stakeholders to gather client intelligence and align efforts with strategic goals.
* Represent the work‑winning team within B+P, promoting best practices and resources.
* Capture lessons learned and client feedback to drive continuous improvement; maintain Salesforce records and support team projects such as the Oscar AI tool and bid training.
* Mentor junior staff, identify training needs and support professional growth while maintaining a solutions‑focused approach under pressure.
* Ensure compliance with legal, commercial and client requirements, including the ECP Tier 2 playbook for UK/Eire opportunities.
Qualifications
* Minimum five years’ experience in bid management, leading significant strategic bids within the UK and Ireland.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience managing multi‑disciplinary proposals of high strategic value.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering best‑quality outputs.
* Methodical yet flexible, capable of collaborating with internal clients and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work positively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of Adobe InDesign; desirable: APMP certification.
