Are you a Senior DevOps Engineer?

We're currently leading exciting projects across the public sector and defence, and we're looking for experienced, talented individuals to join our mission.
We are actively seeking several Senior DevOps Engineers with a proven track record in one or more of the following key areas:
Responsibilities
* Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and extensive experience with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
* Cloud Infrastructure. Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenShift, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform.
* Containerisation. Expertise in containerised architectures with Docker and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
* Version Control. Proficient in Git with leadership or significant contributions to team-based development, including complex branching, peer reviews, and approvals.
* Programming & Scripting. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python or PowerShell, with advanced Linux knowledge.
* Additional related experience welcomed (e.g., networking, systems administration) with the ability to master these DevOps skills.
What you will do
As part of our growing DevOps practice, you'll be deployed on key client projects, collaborating with the team to accelerate delivery and share best practices. An example is our "Open Architecture Research & Development" project, developing a secure, scalable platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for a defence client. This platform will use a containerised architecture to process maritime data. You will work alongside skilled engineers to help build and mature it. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge environment.
You'll be part of an agile team of digital professionals, including other engineers, user researchers, and designers. We work in sprints, focusing on continuous delivery and learning as a team to improve how we work.

Experience & Skills
Technical Expertise
* Cloud Infrastructure: Extensive use of AWS for cloud infrastructure, IaC with Terraform. Experience within the MODCloud environment is highly desirable.
* Containerisation & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes, including EKS, EKS Anywhere, and multi-cluster management with Rancher; hybrid/edge support.
* GitOps: Proficient in Git and CI/CD pipelines managed via GitLab; ArgoCD for continuous delivery.
* Virtualisation & Baremetal: VMware environments and Baremetal deployments for performance or security needs.
* Automation & Scripting: Python or PowerShell within Linux environments.
* Cross Domain Solutions: Experience with Cross Domain capabilities, such as Data Diodes and secure streaming.
* Secure By Design: Experience with MOD\'s JSP453 and Secure by Design processes to meet security requirements.
Professional and Business Skills
* Agile Leadership: Leading technical work in an agile environment, focusing on continuous delivery and translating user needs into technical solutions.
* Mentorship: Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the DevOps practice.
* Strategic Communication: Clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders; planning and meeting deadlines.
* Holistic Knowledge: Understanding of business context and impact of technical decisions on wider goals.
Package
* Salary £90k + 5% Bonus
* 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days
