Job Description
3. Developing a standard approach for selecting the priority improvements
4. Soliciting ideas from workforce, analysis of quality data, SMA reviews, customer complaints, audit findings, PFMEA, process walks, benefit /effort analysis, Standards gaps, etc.
5. Assigning resource to the priority projects, ensuring leaders/ teams have the required skills and support to deliver each projects
6. Driving the development of people to close any Zero Defect toolset skills gaps required to deliver improvement projects
The Successful Applicant
A successful Lead Manufacturing Engineer should have:
7. Experience working in a manufacturing engineering role in aerospace, defense, automotive or high-spec industrial environments.
8. Engineering project management experience with a thorough understanding of the associated tools and techniques
9. Strong understanding of process control and process capability, including the use of statistical tools to validate and monitor production stability
10. Demonstrated experience in leading business performance and continuous improvement initiatives focused on Zero Defects.
11. In-depth knowledge APQP core tools including PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SOPs
12. Significant experience with 8D/DMAIC problem-solving methodologies and VSM (Value Stream Mapping)
13. Excellent analytical skills, able to analyse business KPI's, process capability data, audit results, stakeholder feedback, etc. to identify and quantify process improvement opportunities
