Group Financial Accountant
Location: Knottingley, West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent

What You’ll Do
This is a key role ensuring successful delivery of all financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries, which will involve:
* Embed the organisational values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, and Achieving Excellence in everything you do
* Manage and develop two assistant accountants
* Implement and maintain robust financial controls
* Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
* Prepare and maintain the group's consolidated financial statements
* Produce quarterly VAT returns and provide internal VAT expertise
* Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly
* Support the annual audit and financial year-end process, including preparation of disclosure notes and supporting schedules
* Ensure compliance with charity accounting legislation, general accounting legislation, and applicable company and charity law
* Engage genuinely and responsively with internal and external stakeholders
* Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
* Collaborate with the wider finance team for daily operations
* Participate in financial and systems projects as appropriate
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3+ years PQE
* Strong technical background
* Experience managing a team
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Excellent numerical and Excel skills
* Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
* Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory accounts
* Experience in a charity or social care organization is preferred
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
