Overview
Our client is seeking an HVAC Project Lead to take ownership of the full delivery of engineering projects — from design through installation and handover. You will ensure every project meets its requirements, legislative standards, and is delivered on time, on budget, and safely.
Responsibilities
* Project Planning & Coordination
o Develop schedules and milestones, and coordinate all project activities
o Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers
o Ensure project scope aligns with client requirements
o Provide technical input during project meetings
* Technical Oversight
o Review and validate HVAC designs and drawings
o Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., Dw144), and specifications
o Approve equipment selections and submittals
o Resolve technical challenges during design and construction
* Site Execution & Supervision
o Monitor installation activities to ensure quality and safety
o Conduct site inspections and verify work against drawings
o Coordinate commissioning and testing of systems
o Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
* Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
o Prepare handover documents and O&M manuals
o Track project costs and support budget control
o Report progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement
o Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and expectations
o Deliver technical presentations and updates
o Manage client feedback and ensure satisfaction
o Support post-installation troubleshooting and warranty issues
What You Bring (Qualifications)
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
* Expertise in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms
* Experience with modular design and manufacture
* Knowledge of industry standards and legislation, including CE marking
* Customer-facing experience with strong commercial awareness
* Skilled in requirements management, configuration, and change control
* Ideally experienced in HVAC design for bespoke mechanical equipment, particularly in Nuclear applications
* Experience managing full project lifecycle from tender to delivery
* Conversant with RIBA standards
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to gain and hold SC clearance
