Working for a mental health charity who provide housing related support for adults with mental health problems. The company has a unit in Hindley, which houses 7 adult males with mental health problems in their own self contained flats. An 8th flat in the building comprises of a lounge/kitchen, shower room and office for a concierge/caretaker. This role is manned by 12 hours shifts, which on a full time pattern consists of 4 x 12 hour waking nights, followed by 4 days off and then 4 x 12 hour days, followed by 4 days off etc.
In addition, you will be required to do additional shifts to cover each others holidays and/or sickness and it is important that whoever takes this role, is flexible in their approach to providing additional cover. This cover means that all staff there are able to take 25 days holiday per year.
To emphasise, you would be required to cover holidays and sickness (along with other staff) and this flexibility and willingness to do extra hours is an absolute must and will be assessed in any probation period.
No previous experience is needed, however a willingness to help people and to show an empathy to the residents is essential. Minimum 16 x 12 hour shifts per month, paid at £12.71 per hour, with pension, healthcare plan, perkbox privileges and 25 days holiday per year.
If you are rota'd to work a bank holiday, you will receive a day off in lieu, which will receive full pay when you take it. Full holiday pay and full sick pay (discretional) Duties include managing a secure front door, observing security cameras and general care taking duties and cleaning of common areas. Due to the nature of the residents, the role needs to be filled by a male.
