Are you looking to develop specialist paediatric knowledge and progress your career by working in a close-knit team within a highly diverse community? Join a multidisciplinary team and support our Band 7s in the development and running of integrated pathways. We have an opportunity for an innovative and dedicated Occupational Therapist with specialist skills, excellent foundational knowledge and varied experience in paediatrics, to support children and young people from 0-19 years. Our team of OTs and assistants provides a broad range of clinical experiences that develop specialist skills and progress your OT career. The role involves a varied caseload across different presentations of physical conditions and neuro-diversity, with protected time to contribute to evidence-based pathways including Upper Limb Splinting, Complex Seating, Early Intervention for Young Infants, Specialist DCD Assessment Clinic in partnership with Paediatricians, and Parent Coaching. The community work spans clinic rooms, clients' homes and schools.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload as a Band 6 OT, including supervision of junior staff and students with competency development.
* Provide regular formal and informal supervision, with monthly supervision and opportunities to engage in Quality Improvement and Clinical Audit.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary work within Specialist Children and Young Peoples' Service (SCYPS) alongside Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Paediatricians and Specialist Nurses.
* Support the development and running of integrated pathways and evidence-based practice across a range of paediatric services.
* Represent and share pioneering work in Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) and Parent Coaching Pathways with the wider OT community.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Occupational Therapist with specialist skills and varied experience in paediatrics, able to support children and young people aged 0–19 years.
* Willingness to work within a close-knit, multidisciplinary team and contribute to service development and improvement.

Within the Specialist Children and Young People's Service (SCYPS), OTs form an integral part of a multidisciplinary therapies team who work closely with Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Paediatricians and Specialist Nurses to deliver high-quality services for the children and families of Newham.
