Location: Abingdon (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 remote)
Our client is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their Computing Division. You will deliver secure, resilient and high-performing hybrid cloud solutions while working with architects, engineers and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement and maintain IT infrastructure including Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Active Directory and networking.
* Develop hybrid solutions integrating on‑premises systems with Microsoft Azure.
* Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as PowerShell and Terraform and automation tools such as Ansible.
* Monitor and optimise system performance, availability and resilience and manage backups and disaster recovery.
* Implement security controls and ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001 and CAF.
* Produce documentation, runbooks and training materials and provide guidance to junior team members.
* Work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable and innovative IT services.
Requirements:
* Experience in IT infrastructure engineering, hybrid cloud and Azure environments.
* Hands‑on expertise with virtualisation, networking and Windows Server administration.
* Strong knowledge of security, compliance and operational best practice.
* Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and automation frameworks.
* SC clearance and ability to work on‑site in Abingdon.
