Clinical Support Worker - Oncology/Haematology Helpline
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Oncology and Haematology helpline team for band 3 Clinical Support Workers. The post will involve answering the helpline calls and signposting patients to the correct place to help them. It will also involve assessing patients including their vital signs, ECGs, venepuncture and cannulation. Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
To work as part of the ward or department team in providing compassionate care to patients, service users, carers and families. This is a pivotal role that is essential in providing care and support to patients and service users through direct and indirect care, working within clearly defined limits and attainment of agreed competence.

Responsibilities
* Answer helpline calls using an algorithm, signpost/divert calls to the correct team for expert advice.
* Assess patients as they arrive on the ward, including taking vital signs.
* Perform ECGs, venepuncture, and cannulation.
* Provide direct and indirect care, working within clearly defined limits and competency.
Qualifications
* Band 3 Clinical Support Worker role, entry level.
* Experience in clinical support or healthcare is desirable but not essential.
* Full training will be provided.
* Contract position.
