About the Role:
As a CBRE Engineering Ops Manager, you will manage a team responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing all mechanical and electrical operations for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do:
1. Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee recruitment.
2. Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff, and mentor team members.
3. Assist the team with operations and maintenance issues.
4. Direct contractors, subcontractors, and engineers on maintenance activities.
5. Supervise daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems.
6. Enforce and integrate customer engineering and maintenance standards into the facility maintenance program.
7. Support the preparation of annual operating budgets and manage operations and maintenance costs.
8. Schedule maintenance activities in compliance with operational requirements.
9. Support analysis of engineering performance metrics (KPIs).
10. Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and conduct peer reviews and site assessments.
11. Collaborate with clients on reconfiguration, changes, and operational needs.
12. Lead by example, embody CBRE RISE values, and influence stakeholders to reach agreements.
13. Apply disciplinary knowledge and understand how it integrates with other areas to achieve objectives.
14. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues.
What You’ll Need:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Membership in a professional engineering body such as CIBSE or IEE is preferred.
* Experience in staffing, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management is preferred.
* Strong communication skills for handling sensitive and complex information.
* Leadership skills to motivate and influence the team and department.
* Excellent client relationship skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
