The Internal Fraud function of the Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants Function at the Cabinet Office processes details of civil servants who have been dismissed for committing internal fraud, or would have been dismissed had they not resigned. The Cabinet Office receives these details from participating government organisations, bans affected civil servants for five years from further employment in the civil service, and discloses limited datasets back to DLUHC for pre‑employment checks. This policy ensures that known fraudsters are prevented from re‑applying for civil service roles.
Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check and obtain baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) clearance before appointment. We strongly prefer eligibility for counter‑terrorist check (CTC) clearance and, where required, higher levels of clearance will be indicated in the advert. Please see our vetting charter here.
