The Environmental Protection team has two vacancies for an Environmental Health Officer. We are excited to offer a career graded post, giving opportunities for someone who is either fully qualified or is studying towards a degree in Environmental Health. If you have not yet completed your degree, we are keen to support the right candidate and the role profile provides more details of the essential qualifications we are looking for.
The team is busy, with high workloads but it is rewarding in that it makes a positive contribution to the lives of our residents and the local environment.
The work involves being responsible for Environmental Protection functions, including air quality, environmental permitting, waste enforcement and animal licensing including statutory nuisance and noise, responding to planning applications, and other public health issues in a geographical area of the city, and supporting other staff in the team in delivering timely investigations.
Although experience is desirable, support and training can be provided to the right candidate if they meet the essential qualifications for the relevant career grade offered.
