Overview

When you join the team at Heriot’s, you become part of our community, where the contribution of every individual is important and valued. The Heriot’s motto, to “distribute chearfullie”, is at the heart of the school—distributing kindness, support and generosity remains as live today as it was in 1628 when George Heriot founded the school.

Our recent staff survey indicated 97% of employees feel motivated and happy to work here. We aim to provide a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment for all of our people. The package for Support Staff includes the following benefits:

* Generous pension scheme (up to 11% employer contribution with 5% employee contribution)
* Enhanced sick pay, maternity and paternity pay
* Family friendly policies (including Personal Emergency Leave Days)
* Annual review and opportunities for training and continued professional development

* School Fee Remission (non-contractual benefit)
* Employee Assistance programme, including 24/7 counselling helpline and discounts
* Opportunities for involvement in the wider school community

Role and Responsibilities

The Development Office works closely with the Heriot’s community to inspire active participation between the school and our 10,000-strong community of former pupils, parents and friends worldwide. The Development Office promotes the school ethos, fundraises for the Foundation, bursaries and school projects, and connects former and current pupils to enhance learning opportunities. The role offers a great opportunity to join an enthusiastic development team and lead by example, building meaningful relationships with former pupils and potential donors and supporting events and compelling communications using our digital platform.

The Fundraising Executive spearheads fundraising opportunities, reporting to the Development Manager and working closely with the Director of External Relations, the Development team and staff across the school.
