Here at Derian House Children’s Hospice, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our small team based at our Hospice in Chorley. You will join us on a permanent full time basis. Derian House has provided high-quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for over 30 years. Our care team provide symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short break respite care to children, young people and their families across Lancashire, South Cumbria and Greater Manchester. Supported by our dedicated community team, family support team, neonatal services and young people’s services we are able to provide a wide range of support and care in a variety of settings. About the role: You will assist the Finance manager in providing comprehensive financial and administrative support including processing of income and expenditure, budget preparation, month end procedures, purchase and sales ledger reconciliations, assisting the payroll officer, recording of petty cash, posting journals and other duties. What we are looking for: Ideally AAT qualified, although not essential Proven working knowledge of Sage or similar accounting systems and Microsoft office suite Excellent communication skills Proven experience of providing financial and administrative support. Ability to record information in concise, accurate and legible manner A positive, assertive, confident and approachable individual Hours of work This is a full time position of 37.5 hours.
