My dog just conducted a full factory audit of his kibble.
And frankly, he’s not impressed.
Apparently, he’s now taking a hard stance on HACCP plans, supplier specs, and traceability - all because he read somewhere that food made to human standards is the future.
So now I’m on the hunt for someone who can put his very particular paws at ease. Luckily, our client (a truly passionate pet food business doing things differently) is looking for someone just like you to join their team as Technical Manager.
This isn’t a senior-senior job - it’s made for someone who’s already got a bit of technical experience under their collar and is now hungry for more. You might be working in a QA or compliance role today, but you’re ready to own more, learn fast, and have a real say in how things are done.
The business is scaling quickly and holds itself to some pretty lofty standards. You’ll help keep everything on track as they grow, making sure what goes out the door is as safe as it is delicious. That means compliance, documentation, food safety, audit readiness and all those lovely acronyms like HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP will be your bread and butter. Or kibble and carrots. You get the idea.
You’ll be spending time on the factory floor, spotting issues before they become problems, and helping shape the systems and culture that keep everyone, humans and dogs alike, safe and happy. You’ll also have a hand in everything from supplier approvals to process improvements and training the team on what good looks like.
It’s a collaborative gig, too. You’ll work closely with R&D, production, engineering and ops, getting stuck into problem-solving, inspections and maybe even the occasional dog photoshoot. Probably.
You don’t need to have all the answers - but you do need to care about quality, love a bit of structure, and be the kind of person who runs toward problems with sleeves already rolled up.
So if you’re looking to step up, learn loads, and help shape a genuinely exciting business at the intersection of innovation, health and (very spoiled) dogs - then go on.
Throw us a bone.
