An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our corporate Transformation Team to deliver trust-wide transformation and improvement. Working with clinicians, managers and staff across the Trust and wider system, the Transformation Manager will provide a combination of improvement and project management skills and expertise applying the Trust's transformation approach to deliver outcomes.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is highly organised and passionate about improvement in health care, bringing with them a strong track record and experience of leading transformation and improvement projects.
Main duties of the job
The Transformation Manager is required to provide transformation support across a range of complex transformation and improvement projects in line with the Trust transformation approach.
As such the ideal candidate will be able to confidently apply and implement change and continuous improvement methodologies and approaches to deliver complex transformation and sustained improvement. You will also be an experienced project manager who has delivered complex transformation and improvement programmes. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to build positive working relationships and influence key stakeholders to deliver change. You will also be able to interpret and distil often complex data and information into an easy to understand structure and format. A key part of the role will also involve empowering and supporting colleagues to develop their improvement capabilities to identify and deliver improvements as part of the day job.

Job responsibilities
As Transformation Manager you will be a key member of our corporate Transformation Team. We work at pace across a variety of programmes and projects with a wide range of colleagues to deliver sustainable improvements and transformational change and to embed a learning and improvement culture across the Trust. The priorities of the team are set by a corporate Service Improvement Group chaired by the Chief Executive and we work to a robust programme and project management approach.
The responsibilities will vary according to the programme and project deliverables, but responsibilities will include:
* Defining and understanding business issues and improvement opportunities and challenges (clinical and corporate).
* Providing structure, direction and expertise in line with Trust improvement processes and project management approaches.
* Scoping projects to define aims and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Demonstrating a strategic understanding to position programmes within the context of Trust and the wider system health and care priorities.
* Developing solution focused and evidence based improvement and transformation programmes in accordance with the Trust transformation approach and improvement process incorporating and applying change management best practice as appropriate.
* Working closely with scheme SROs and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders.
* Developing and designing programme structures and delivery models ensuring robust governance arrangements.
* Planning and supporting the implementation of improvements adopting the Trust improvement process and relevant continuous improvement approaches and methodologies as appropriate in line with best practice to ensure that outcomes and benefits (financial and non-financial) are captured, realised and sustained.
* Designing and facilitating project and improvement related events and sessions in line with programme requirements.
* Building transformation capability across the Trust by supporting and delivering continuous improvement and business change training and development and providing improvement and project management coaching support to operational improvement and project leads.
* Demonstrating and promoting collaborative leadership and working with key stakeholders across the Trust and wider system to support the implementation of sustainable change and continuous improvement.
* Communicating and promoting the importance and value of effective continuous improvement, project management and business change across the organisation.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* Educated to degree, masters level or equivalent diploma level or equivalent experience.
* Business Change/Improvement/ Transformation qualifications or knowledge of continuous improvement, business change and transformation methodologies
* Project management qualification, eg PRINCE2, MSP or similar
* Clinical Qualification
Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of specialist continuous improvement and business change practices acquired through post graduate studies or equivalent experience or training
* Knowledge of a range of recognised programme and project management methodologies and approaches
* Knowledge of delivering complex business change and transformation projects in a clinical and/or business/operational environment
* oKnowledge of a range of continuous improvement, change management and QI methodologies and approaches
Experience
* Experience as a project, service improvement, transformation or business change manager or leadership of complex, large scale transformational programmes.
* Experience of applying and implementing business change and continuous improvement methodologies and approaches to deliver complex transformation and sustained improvement
* Track record and successful delivery of large scale complex projects and organisational change and implementation of sustained improvement and realization of benefits
* Programme or project management experience, including leading and motivating multi-disciplinary project teams and aligning different stakeholder priorities
* Experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships through an end-to-end transformation processes.
* Experience of promoting and influencing change at senior clinical and operational leadership levels.
* Experience of facilitating learning, public speaking, delivering presentations, e.g. in Trust wide meetings.
* Experience of the collation, analysis and interpretation of complex information or data.
* Experience of using software packages to support change (eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio).
* NHS experience and working for a Foundation Trust.
* Experience of developing positive working relationships, collaboration and partnerships within and across organisations.
