Support Worker- Zero Hour (Bank Staff)

Location: GU2 9AB - Guildford.

Reports to: Managers

Job Title: Support Worker- Zero Hour (Bank Staff)

Salary: £13.15 per hour & £40 per sleep in

Hours: Bank Staff, Flexible shift patterns - may include days, evenings, and/or nights.

iAspire provides high quality 24-hour supported living placements for young people aged 16-18 who are preparing to leave local authority care. Our ethos is to ensure always we provide a safe, structured, outcomes driven service to develop each young person's ability to successfully manage independent living.

Support packages are designed to identify needs to develop the practical and emotional skills required to live independently. So that their full potential can be achieved in a structured, measurable, and achievable manner which incorporates several key resilience domains to build confidence, self-esteem, and wellbeing.

The Opportunity

iAspire currently has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support worker to join a friendly Company specialising in providing accommodation and support for young care leavers aged iAspire is committed to always safeguarding the young people, and always providing them with the best service possible. Candidates should have:

* Health and Social Care level 3 or be willing to start this course with this role
* A flexible work approach and to undertaking duties in the evenings and/or at weekends as required.
* Experience in health, social care, education, or youth work.

The Role

Working mainly as a lone member of staff on shift in a Young Person's semi-independent provision, you will be responsible for the safeguarding of Young People aged 16 to 18 within the service whilst adhering to current policies and procedures. You must therefore be confident, authoritative and have experience working with this or similar age group. This role may suit an individual that can take charge of a situation, earn the respect of the Young People ensuring suitable behaviour is maintained within the provision.

Typical Duties

* Safeguarding young people.
* Engaging with young people, conducting key working sessions, supporting them with life skills such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, budgeting, time management, making appointments, building a CV, applying for jobs/apprenticeships, universal credit etc., according to their support plans.
* Ensuring that daily logs, weekly progress reports, risk assessments, support plans etc., are completed, and that appropriate key working session are conducted.
* Liaising with the professional's network, attending scheduled meetings and appointments with young people.
* Conducting activities with young people, facilitating resident meetings, supporting to attend off-site meetings, activities, and outings etc.
* Ensuring the provision remains a safe, comfortable, and presentable environment.
* Day to day running of the provision.
* Proactive role-modelling for young people.

Skills and Abilities Required

* Good IT skills and awareness of online safety.
* Flexibility to complete shifts 7 days per week.
* The ability to communicate clearly.
* Report writing and keeping clear up to date concise records.
* Working with young people and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
* To work as part of a team – full support is always available from Head Office (24/7).
* Managing your time effectively ensuring each young person has their allocated support hours.
* An ability to form, develop, and sustain relationships with young people.

* Driving Licence – desirable.
