Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pre-Registration Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages, with a particular focus on senior care. You will perform eye examinations, diagnose visual problems, and prescribe corrective lenses while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Duties
* Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect ocular diseases.
* Provide appropriate prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses based on patient needs.
* Educate patients about eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care.
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of examinations and treatments.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, particularly for senior patients.
* Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies to enhance patient outcomes.
* Pass stage 1, stage 2 and OSCE, additional modules to suffice university requirements.
Skills
* Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment.
* In-depth knowledge of anatomy related to the visual system and common ocular conditions.
* Experience or interest in providing specialised care for senior patients, understanding their unique needs.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to patients and their families.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
