Job Title: Kitchen Porter


Responsible to: Sous Chef



Responsible for: the
hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen



Hours: up
to 50





Scope and
general purpose: Ensure the kitchen
and associated areas are cleaned to the Torridon standards, including all
floors, walls, equipment and preparation areas.











Main
Responsibilities:





Guests & Quality






* Report any faults, breakages, or
sub-standard equipment to the sous chef.




·
Ensure all crockery, cutlery, and
equipment are ready for service.



·
Coordinate the washing of all
restaurant crockery and cutlery.




* Communicate
effectively with the Kitchen team and other departments.

* Talk to guests
effectively about the resort and what is on offer with a genuine sense of interest.

* Clean all back
corridors to ensure clean entry to the kitchen.






Team






* Support team members on shift with you
so they are working in a positive and productive friendly environment.

Coordinate with the daily tidying and
cleaning of Team Kitchen Areas.




* Ensure a continuous level of
self-development.






Productivity






* Re-stock and replenish equipment and
supplies as necessary.




·
Coordinate the washing up of kitchen
pots, pans and utensils.



·
Coordinate the full cleaning of the
kitchen.




* Follow all SOPs and make suggestions as
required if efficiency and effectiveness can be improved.








Health & Safety






* Ensure complete
compliance of self with Health & Safety regulations.

* Report any failures
of health & safety immediately following see it sort it fix it policy.




·
Comply with the Cook Safe Guidelines.




* Coordinate the daily/weekly and monthly deep
cleaning schedules.

* Coordinate the emptying of bins and
waste in the kitchen and the cleanliness of the external refuse bins as
required.




Sustainability & Environment






* Proactively assist
with sustainability in your department in reducing energy consumption, and
wastage.

* Recycle all waste
appropriately.

* Assist with the
recycling for the kitchen and reduce use of single use plastic.
