Responsibilities
* As a Senior Radiographer/Mammographer, you will:
* Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent)
* A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable)
* Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike
* Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors
* Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work
* Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
* Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Main duties and responsibilities
* Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload
* Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice
* Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities
* Supervise and develop junior colleagues
* Work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the HCPC code of conduct
* Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programmes
* Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers
* Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and report faults in line with policy
* Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media
* Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes
* Comply with all organisational policies and procedures
* Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements
Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.
