Job Description
You’re hitting a ceiling that isn’t about talent. You're in a business where your influence is limited because you’re an Interior Designer.
You can be brilliant, profitable, and trusted… and still get treated like the side dish, not the main course.
This role is different because it’s built on a simple belief: Interiors should be the most commercially important part of a multidisciplinary business. Not a nice add-on.
And when a company genuinely believes that, you can feel it in the package — not as “perks”, but as a signal of status and intent.
The £55k–£65k salary isn’t a negotiation piece. It’s the baseline because they value your discipline properly.
The bonus isn’t token either, it’s the kind of money that pays off your car or gets you a couple of top holidays.
The maternity policy (28 weeks full pay) isn’t there for PR, it’s what serious companies do when they expect you to build your career here.
Put together, it adds up to something bigger than features: respect, security, and momentum.
This is a step up that a lot of people never get — not because they aren’t good enough, but because their company will never let interiors be “important enough”.
As the number two in command nationwide, you won’t have anyone looking over your shoulder. You’d have a high level of mobility and flexibility day to day. You’d report to nobody, but still be part of a large regional and national team of designers.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading the Interior function across Manchester, Yorkshire, and the North.
* Helping to build, manage and grow a nationwide team of Designers.
* Managing and developing relationships with clients, suppliers, other key disciplines and partners.
* Strategically heading up the region, but also working with and advising a national board of Directors.
* Heading up delivery and keeping your hand in the project load.
What you’ll need
* Strong Interior Design experience at Senior or Associate level.
* Good all rounder both in terms of design, delivery and relationship management.
* Proactive and energetic
About the company
This is a proper quality multidisciplinary business with 300+ staff nationwide, but a small Interior team. It’s well structured, well-resourced, and mature enough to want to invest heavily in the sector with lots of work won. They invest in people, plan for succession, and reward contribution rather than noise.
If your CV isn’t up to date, that’s fine. An old one or a LinkedIn profile is more than enough to start a proper conversation.
