Formula One AV Technician, Warrington, Cheshire

For the past 10 years, Live Wire has worked across Formula 1, supplying technology to major teams and F1 Management. Our work includes constructing viewer experiences in teams' hospitality suites, paddock, garages, and factories, elevating each of the 24 races a year. We collaborate with suppliers to deliver pioneering technology and integrate innovation into all our projects.
Live Wire provides AV technology for various events including Festivals, Concerts, Conferences, Theatre, and Dance. We work with venues such as Southbank Centre, Barbican, Sadlers Wells to provide technicians, support, and equipment.
We are seeking AV technicians to join our travelling team, working closely with clients like Mercedes, Red Bull, Aston Martin, McLaren, F1 Management, and F1 Academy. Using cutting-edge equipment, technicians will handle a variety of events, from driver interviews to hospitality entertainment and live race commentary, including pit links. The role requires working under pressure to exceed client expectations and continuously improve equipment, events, and team performance.
Responsibilities include meticulous management of equipment, proactive packing procedures for safe shipping, ongoing maintenance during the season, and prompt repairs or damage management.
Technicians will write comprehensive race reports with insights into build, scheduling, equipment usage, and sustainability tracing, ensuring timely delivery to relevant parties.
We value technicians who can mentor junior team members, exemplify high work standards, and collaborate effectively with operations, production, project, and finance teams to ensure seamless race delivery and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
* Operate high-profile shows alongside world-class drivers and musicians.
* Produce detailed production schedules and kit lists for clients and crew.
* Write debriefs post-race, highlighting action points and improvement ideas.
* Maintain equipment, report damages, and take corrective actions.
* Work independently with self-motivation.
* Build and maintain positive client relationships.
* Communicate effectively with team members on track and in the UK.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in event management of varying demands.
* Specialization in lighting, sound, or AV, with broad project management skills.
