Assistant Accountant
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Tuesday-Thursday in the office, Monday & Friday from home

The Role
This is a broad and hands-on Assistant Accountant opportunity within a supportive finance team. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, wants exposure to management accounts, and is keen to develop their technical accounting skills in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function while also getting involved in process improvements, reporting, and management accounting activities. The more responsibility you take on, the more exposure you will gain to higher-level finance work.
There is also opportunity to gain exposure to stock accounting and work-in-progress processes through the wider group operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Posting purchase and sales invoices
2. Processing customer invoices and purchasing invoices
3. Performing bank reconciliations
4. Managing company credit card reconciliations
5. Assisting with management accounts preparation
6. Supporting finance systems and process improvements
7. Assisting with work-in-progress accounting
8. Using Excel regularly for reporting and analysis
9. Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
10. Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Finance Assistant position
11. Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs
12. Confident using finance systems and learning new technology quickly
13. Excellent attention to detail
14. Proactive and adaptable approach
15. Strong communication skills and willingness to support the wider team
Desirable
16. Experience using Xledger
17. Manufacturing or stock-based industry experience
18. Experience supporting management accounts
19. Exposure to work-in-progress accounting
