The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in 6‑month rotations across the Barts Health NHS Trust, including the Royal London Hospital (major trauma centre), Whipps Cross University Hospital, Newham University Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital (specialist tertiary centre). Rotations offered include Medicine, Respiratory, Oncology, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Older People Services, Trauma, Orthopedics, Surgery, Vascular & Amputees, Cardio‑Respiratory and Accident & Emergency.

You will be working in well‑established and supportive therapy teams that offer structured supervision, appraisal and a Band 5 OT foundation training programme across all sites. Key Responsibilities
* Provide autonomous, high‑quality occupational therapy interventions to a wide variety of patients.
* Carry out assessment and treatment of patients, including individual and group education and treatment sessions.
* Provide assistive devices (orthotics and prosthetics) and equipment, and minor home adaptations in hospital wards, outpatient departments and patient homes.
* Work across specialties such as respiratory and critical care, acute admissions, neuroscience and stroke, trauma and orthopaedics, cancer services and hand therapy.

* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registered
Experience
* Completed varied clinical placements.
Skills & Competencies (Essential)
* Ability to prioritise, organise and delegate.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, orally and in writing, including to patients and carers who may have difficulties understanding.
* Understanding of the legal and ethical responsibilities of the profession.
* Competent in IT and keeping accurate, legible patient notes in line with local and national standards.
* Capacity to perform moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day, manage competing demands and interruptions.
* Ability to cope in a range of treatment environments at a fast pace with emotional and/or aggressive patients and carers.
Desirable
* Presentation skills.
* Ability to assess and educate clients and carers about safe transfer techniques, including use of equipment and adaptations.
