Description The Barry Robinson Center is a premier behavioral health system dedicated to improving the lives of children since 1933, with a special focus on serving military-connected youth. Located on a beautiful campus in Norfolk, Virginia. Home to one of the largest military communities in the world, we provide residential treatment, outpatient services, and foster care to children ages 11–17 whose families serve our nation. We are seeking a full-time Residential Treatment Coordinator to join our mission-driven team. The Treatment Coordinator is a key member of the interdisciplinary leadership team, providing hands-on operational oversight for one 24-bed unit within our 72-bed residential facility, in close collaboration with two additional Treatment Coordinators. This role is primarily focused on day-to-day program operations, including staff supervision, coordination of unit activities, and maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Working closely with clinical leadership, the Treatment Coordinator helps translate treatment goals into consistent daily practice, supports direct care staff, and addresses operational needs to ensure continuity of care and positive outcomes for residents. Responsibilities: Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment Genuine passion for supporting youth and their families, especially those from military-connected communities. Demonstrated ability to live out the organization’s three core team values: Be Kind, Be Competent, and Be Fun. Provide leadership to direct care staff, including ongoing coaching and support Lead weekly interdisciplinary team meetings Participate in and contribute to resident treatment plan reviews Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance development of residential staff Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation through strong written and verbal communication Collaborate effectively with internal team members, families, referral sources, social workers, and other external partners involved in residents’ care Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual program budget, including supplies, allowances, and resident outings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field required Master’s degree in a human services–related field preferred Strong understanding of adolescent development and trauma-informed care principles Minimum of two years of experience working with children or adolescents, including at least one year in a residential treatment or similar setting Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred, including demonstrated ability to train, coach, and lead teams Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable with engaging parents of youth in care Strong familiarity with military culture Strong time management skills Beyond the Benefits… This role offers more than a title, it offers the opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven community dedicated to meaningful, lasting impact.
