About the Role

Join our team as a Domestic Abuse Team Manager and make a positive difference in the lives of survivors. Lead a dedicated team, provide, support and implement strategies to combat abuse and help create a safer community.

The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Workers and Team Manager are part of the Children, Young People and Learning Directorate. These roles identify, assess, and assist victim-survivors of domestic and sexual violence and abuse, in order to increase their safety and the safety of their families and are an integral part of the Early Help and Children's Social Care Service.

We are looking for someone passionate about working with victims-survivors and their families, building relationships and who will manage the day‑to‑day operation of the service.


The Opportunity

Salary: £48,226 to £51,356 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2028.
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours per week)
Location: Horsham (with Hybrid and Flexible working)

You will work Monday to Friday with the requirement to travel countrywide and mainly based in Horsham. You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

We will support you with a Smarter Working approach, discussed locally with your manager, to find what works best for you, your role and your team.


Responsibilities & Duties

In this role, you will lead, supervise and oversee a team that provides direct intervention to victim-survivors and their families through targeted support and partnership working with both internal and external partners including Children's Social Care and Police. You will oversee and manage the incoming referrals, providing direction and support to DA workers to reduce the risk of harm and prompt safety.

You will work with partner organisations to ensure victim-survivors receive the advice, information, and support that they require, including the provision of practical support where appropriate to reduce risk and promote safety.

With a focus on continuous improvement, you will lead and work in a multi‑agency way, keeping clients and children central to all coordinated responses and holding those causing harm to account.

As a proactive leader, you will enable the team to provide support to those affected by sexual violence and abuse. You will be responsible for the case management for the Domestic Abuse Workers delivering the service in the Integrated Front Door, ensuring that a seamless service is delivered to clients from referral to exit from service.


About You

We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners and decision‑makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement, driving forward the 'Children First' Improvement Plan. Raising practice standards that will directly lead to better outcomes for victims, survivors and their families.

You will be a team player whilst being able to work on your own initiative, providing guidance to the team and solving complex problems across many domains. You will need energy, creativity, agility, and a strong drive to achieve change.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating on several different levels with multiple stakeholders and adapting your style accordingly.

You will have keen attention to detail, be comfortable working independently and be at ease in this fast‑paced, agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads, and priorities.

You will be qualified to a postgraduate level or have the equivalent level of significant experience.
