A well‑established technical business is seeking a confident and ambitious Tech Sales Manager to join their expanding commercial team. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a forward‑thinking, well established organisation.
The ideal candidate will come from a technical, engineered, or specialist product sales background, with experience in sectors such as aviation, automotive, nuclear, manufacturing, precision engineering, or other high-integrity industrial environments. This role combines office and field responsibilities, with regular travel to customer sites, training sessions and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
* Grow, manage and develop a portfolio of technical and industrial clients.
* Use a consultative selling approach to understand customer challenges and recommend the right technical solutions.
* Generate new business opportunities and build long-term, strategic customer relationships.
* Conduct field visits, technical demonstrations, customer reviews and follow-up consultations.
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experience and high-quality service delivery.
* Provide accurate reporting, forecasting and insight to support commercial decision-making.
* Represent the business at trade shows, technical training sessions and customer workshops.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in technical sales, ideally within sectors such as aviation, automotive, nuclear, precision engineering, industrial supplies, chemicals, or engineered products.
* Strong consultative approach, able to interpret customer needs and translate them into solution-based proposals.
* Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
* Confident communicator with a commercial mindset and strong organisational ability.
* Comfortable managing a regional field‑based role with regular travel.
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical discipline) highly desirable.
* Proactive, driven and committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
