Quantity Surveyor
Salary Up to £68,000 per annum plus car allowance
Hours 35 hours per week Monday to Friday
Contract Permanent
Location East London and hybrid working two days per week on average
The role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial leadership across a varied planned works and general building programme within social housing. You will play a key role in delivering value for money robust cost control and strong commercial governance across multiple contracts.
The role also includes mentoring and supporting a Quantity Surveyor apprentice.
Key responsibilities
• Lead financial management of planned works and framework contracts
• Manage budgets forecasting valuations variations and final accounts
• Administer contracts under JCT NEC TEC and bespoke housing forms
• Support procurement including tender evaluation pricing and contract awards
• Challenge contractor claims and drive value for money outcomes
• Provide clear commercial advice to senior stakeholders
• Build effective relationships with contractors and internal teams
Projects and programmes
• Planned works responsive maintenance zero carbon kitchens and bathrooms
• Programme value circa £30m for 2026 to 2027
• Individual works ranging from £5k to contracts up to £5m per year
About you
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or equivalent role
• Background in social housing local authority or regulated environments
• Sound working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
• Confident managing procurement commercial risk and cost control
• Chartered status desirable but not essential
