Engineering Manager - Buchan
Joining bonus of £2,000 and a generous relocation package to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Fancy leading a team of engineers who maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, as well as managing plant and buildings?
Develop your engineering team to enhance their skills, passing on technical knowledge to experienced technicians and apprentices alike.
Lead our engineering team at our Buchan depots based in Peterhead, joining a team of professionals who work with a range of equipment.
You’ll be responsible for supporting, advising and managing the team daily to maintain and repair our fleet of around 45 buses and coaches, with the opportunity to manage buildings and equipment.
Ensure vehicles are presented to high standards; you’ll have autonomy over resource management, stock and people, including ordering, inventory, recruitment, training, and health & safety. The role includes ongoing support, training and development to enable you to be a brilliant Engineering Manager.
If you’re interested in progression, we’ll support you—next stop could be Chief Engineer, working with the Engineering Director to develop skills and experience for further career progression.
Requirements
There are a couple of things we need in our prospective Engineering Manager:
You don’t have to come from a bus background, but experience in related fields (truck / light commercial / rail) in an engineering setting is required.
People management experience is desirable. You don’t have to be an existing manager, but you should be able to provide evidence of how you’ve managed teams of any size.
