We are looking to appoint an Estates Officer with drive and sound technical knowledge to contribute to the management of the Council's commercial property portfolio and provide support to the Council's Estates team and wider organisation.
You will be expected to seek to optimise the Council's property portfolio through rental income, as well as undertaking day to day duties such as dealing with new leases and lease renewals, landlord consents, licences, property inspections, rent arrears and debt recovery and the co-ordination and calculation of service charges, in addition to any other tasks that may arise in support of the Valuation & Estates Manager and Estates team.
You will have a demonstrable understanding of estate management and landlord and tenant matters, plus awareness of the how local authorities operate and an appreciation of the relevant RICS Codes of Practice.
The post will require you to have strong written and verbal communication skills and you will need to have good numerical competency and be proficient in carrying out general estates management tasks for a range of purposes.
