Job Purpose
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for the management of the weekly MPS in order to balance demand and supply within available capacity and set Inventory targets. Orchestrate the cross-functional MPS activities following the correct standards. You will create and maintain forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from the sales process and contract review.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate considerable experience in demand planning within a Manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operations impacts. Essential to this role is a solid understanding and knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership techniques.
In addition to technical proficiency, this role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate effectively with teams across the company including, finance, procurement, engineering and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Orchestrate Scheduling (MPS) activities beyond the current week time horizon and for the whole MPS horizon.
Create and maintain schedules to deliver in the line with requirement while maintaining inventory targets and optimising site capacity.
Schedule production for specified products and productions lines understanding all the physical and manning constraints.
Ensure that MPS is feasible and balanced against resource/demonstrated capacity.
Production past due dates are re-scheduled weekly.
Provide input for Material Requirement Planning.
Lead and manage a team of planning assistants ensuring they effectively control scheduling and planning activities from commencement of production through to customer dispatch.
Provide coaching, training and mentorship to the planning team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Align the MPS with the company goals, drive capacity levels and custom demand, working with the Operations teams to ensure alignment.
Identify potential scheduling conflicts, material shortages, or resource constraints. Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure schedule adherence.
Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Commercial to ensure material and production requirements are met to support on-time deliveries.
Lead meetings to discuss issues, escalate risks when necessary, and promote a clear understanding of project progress across stakeholders.

Knowledge of business and management principles involve in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques.
Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and scheduling.
APICS Planning Certificate
Ability to analyse data and make decisions based on forecasting and scheduling information.
Skill in developing Power BI reports, metrics and dashboards to tell a data story.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to present findings in a structured, clear manner with actionable insights.
3-5 years working in a planning, Procurement or Finance role and can demonstrate knowledge and experience of SIOP
