About the role

Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.

We are looking to recruit a motivated individual to join us as a Graduate Trainee in Carbon Reduction, Energy and Asset Management on a fixed-term, full time basis (12 months contract).

In this role, you’ll learn to use specialist software like CIPFA Asset Manager and Energy Manager and work closely with officers to support the regulatory functions of the team. Prior knowledge and experience of using AutoCAD would also be preferrable.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

1. assist the Programme Manager with energy and utility management including statutory billing of electricity, water and gas
2. conduct building surveys and utilise AutoCAD to verify asset data and ensure compliance, including at our schools, offices, leisure centres, depots and care homes
3. produce measured floor layout drawings
4. maintain building safety registers, including asbestos and legionella.
5. assist with delivering the roadmap to net zero carbon

To be eligible, you’ll need a 2:1 degree (or above) in a Built Environment subject such as Building Surveying or a related architectural discipline, completed within the last three years. In return, you’ll gain valuable public sector experience, grow your expertise in energy and asset management, and subject to outstanding performance leading to a follow-on contract, we will support you to gain RICS and MBIFM professional qualifications.
