Responsibilities
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner working for GPDQ, you will have access to a multi-tude of workstreams enabling you to develop a portfolio career. You will work autonomously as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within primary care, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients across the lifespan. The post-holder will deliver advanced clinical care, including women's health services with coil fitting and removal, and will support the wider practice team in meeting patient and NHS service needs.
* Conduct face to face consultations in general practice
* Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and long-term conditions.
* Prescribe safely and independently in line with NMC/RCN and practice policies
* Provide services, including intrauterine device/system (IUD/IUS) fitting, removal, and follow-up care – this is for non-contraceptive indications as part of the 2024/25 Northwest London ICB enhanced service offer
* Deliver women's health services including contraceptive counselling, cervical cytology, and menopause management.
* Undertake and lead chronic disease management clinics (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension).
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests and investigations.
* Refer patients appropriately to secondary care or other services.
* Contribute to safeguarding and child/vulnerable adult protection processes.
* Maintain accurate, evidence-based patient records (EMIS / SystmOne or equivalent).
Essential requirements
v Must have a Right to Work in the UK
v Registered Nurse (RGN) with NMC registration.
v Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) Letter of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT) or equivalent qualification for coil fitting/removal
v Must be IT literate
v MSc Advanced Clinical Practice
v Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300).
v Minimum 2 years experience post level 7 qualifications in Primary Care
v Competence in coil fitting and removal
v Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
v Empathetic and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery
