About The Role

Are you an experienced and passionate Ofsted Registered Service Manager and are you ready to take the next step in your career to meet the challenge of this exciting role?

This is a Maternity Cover role, commencing November 2025, until December 2026

Position: Registered Service Manager (Maternity cover)
Location: Walsall
Job type: Full time, Fixed Term
Working hours: 40 hours per week, to meet the needs of the service

The role

As the Registered Manager you will utilise your extensive experience and leadership skills, as you will be responsible for the running of all aspects of the home, ensuring it runs as efficiently as possible whilst maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding for the children.

About you

To be successful in the role of Registered Manager you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing an Ofsted home, working in residential care for children with learning disabilities. In addition, you will also need to:

* Hold or be willing to achieve the NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification.
* Have least 2 years’ experience in a position requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
* Knowledge of current legislation including Children’s regulations, The Quality Standards, Every Child Matters and have a good understanding of the role of Ofsted and experience of dealing with inspections.
* A full driving licence and own transport would be an advantage.

Applications will only be considered from Registered Managers who can evidence good or outstanding outcomes with OFSTED inspections.

The successful candidate will be required to be approved for registration by Ofsted as well as undergo an enhanced DBS check and will be subject to extensive referencing and pre-employment checks.

About The Service

Bluebell House is a brand new 6 bedded children’s home in Walsall, which provides support for children with a learning disability and/ or physical disability.

The home has a multitude of breakout spaces, including 2 activity rooms, a sensory room and two lounge spaces for if the children choose to have time alone. All bedrooms have en-suits and bedrooms will be personalised and decorated with the children’s voice being the centre on these decisions, upon admission.

Our aim is to ensure the children we will support will have their voice heard and acted upon, to enable them to live their best potential and outcomes.
